Hyper Local Sports Concept

This is a "part" of a 28 page paper on hyperlocal media
Looking for someone with interest in the field to "share" ideas with???

Sports Social Networking for the Masses

Hyper Local Sports Web Based Sites, their Reach as a Social Networking Product, and the Present and Future of Local Content Driven Focused “New Media.”

A Paper on these Concepts of Hot Shots Media, the creators of a hyper local test site with 5 years of data in YAVarsity.com.

The bottom line here is we are looking for a company that

CAN THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!

Read on and maybe you will!!!!!!!

The Four Products
The concept involves 4 web products, three are social in nature and one is a journalistic site for high school athletes.
The social networks are

123 ?????
4. The “Varsity” Regional Websites that are real sports journalism for the high school years, the “Varsity” Product.
(please keep in mind, you may not even want to try the Varsity Product on a large scale at first, since there is a major start up cost involved, we think however, this is the “Premier Branding Product for local and regional advertisers in the future.)

The 3 Social Products
This is a “social network” form.

The entry product,

The Varsity Product
This product combines the High School Player Pages with a “Real Journalistic Website” for high school age athletes. That is called the “Varsity Product”.
This web product involves “Boots on the Ground” in the use of sports journalism professionals both in video, still images, and print content.
It is designed, written, and shot (video and stills) with Regional sites that interlink to form statewide and also national sites in overall and individual high school sports.

This will become their own social network device for intercommunication with their friends and also (this is very important) college coaches at the large number of NCAA Division II and IIII schools, where most of these kids do end up playing sports after high
We form an entirely new way to get these kids some “digital ink”.

This Concept is that of a “New Media” Company
There is no print or TV relationship needed.
This generation (ages 8-28) which will grow with our products has NO INTEREST in TV and Print publications.
The WEB is what this age group has “grown up with” and this is what they will view as they get older. In their minds, print and TV are “OLD MEDIA plays. As the web evolves, you will have to fit into their lives, it’s not the other way around!
That’s where everyone makes the first mistake!!!

There is no way at present for you to translate affiliated TV ad rates or Metro Newspaper ad rates or National Magazine ad rates to the web. You can’t get near the same dollar value in revenue as you can for your established products. If you could, there would be no need for print of any kind and TV as we know it would be on the way out very soon. Right now the words “value added” come up way too many times when you push your ad accounts onto the web!

To make this a profitable venture, you need to do what My Space, You Tube, and the rest of the Mega Social Sites have not been able to do, find revenue streams that work and that means throwing out all your known ways of creating revenue and starting fresh.

There are many “models” out there now doing hyper local high school sites, we feel that they all undercut their audience and deliver inferior products because they do not see the web as the major source of information that it is rapidly becoming. The web is now ready for a “professional” product that deals with high school sports in a comprehensive way, not just athlete’s stats and NOT JUST the athletes that have a chance at Division 1 in the large NCAA sports like football and basketball.

We try and give every athlete their due in the high school careers and for that 2or 3 or 4 years of their athletic life (93% do not play organized sports again in such an environment) that all are “PLAYMAKERS”, attributed to Michael Irvin

Looking For Funding?

Who isn't???
We have about 20 proposals out there at the moment
Some from BIG Media Players, others from "Little Guys"
Seems everyone is afraid to take a chance on hyperlocal.
Big Media doesn't understand how "local" you can get with viewers as well as advertisers.
Right now, Big Media gets 95% of "Web Revenue" from Big Players, we are not talking Google here" display ads and video clips, etc. No way to get the "little guy" in the game.
We think hyperlocal changes the game and brings "local ad revenue" into the mix, maybe 30-40% in 3-4 years once you get established as the No 1 site in your Local "world"

Looking for someone who thinks the same as we do to "help" get us to the "next level" It does not take much in the way of dollars to "Prove" this concept.
Help!!!!

Google Needs Some Content!

Looks like the reason MSFT took out Yahoo (if the Feds let them) is the need for content, Google is great at getting you around the web and selling those click ads, but that ain't going to cut it much longer!
You need content, try hyperlocal, like us!
